Google, a word that has become a part of every internet user's daily life, is beyond a mere description, and it would take me ages to tell the whole story about it. Anyway, I just thought that I need to thanks Google, atleast with a post in my blog for everything Google has done for us, internet users. Even the blogging platform I am now using to share my knowledge to you, Blogger, is one of Google's children.

"Google Inc. is an American public corporation, earning revenue from advertising related to its Internet search, e-mail, online mapping, office productivity, social networking, and video sharing services as well as selling advertising-free versions of the same technologies."


The story of Google began with Larry Page, joined later by Sergey Brin, starting it as a research project on January 1996, while they were doing Ph.D.

"They hypothesized that a search engine that analyzed the relationships between websites would produce better ranking of results than existing techniques, which ranked results according to the number of times the search term appeared on a page."

The search engine, which was originally nicknamed "BackRub" because the system determined the importance of a site by checking the backlinks, later grew beyond the restricted walls of a project and enslaved the internet with it standing out a long way ahead of it's nearest competitors.
